LIFE Group Study Guide: “Empowered”
An Upside Down Kingdom

Mark 10 contains Jesus’ third prediction of His suffering and death. As they continue on to Jerusalem and the Cross, some of his disciples were astonished and others were afraid. Faith & Power

We are a broken people. Apart from Christ we are under God’s wrath, but through the cross we’re reconciled. Jairus and the bleeding woman are opposites in almost every possible way, yet they both know where they need to put their faith—in Christ—we need to put our faith in Him as well. We need to run to him, fall at his feet, confess our sin, repent of it and believe.
Governance Board member Jayson Ursulak preaches on the themes of Power, Faith and Impurity in Faith & Power.

Offended by Jesus

When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” —Mark 2:16-17
