Doing the Math
The elephant in the room this week is: forgiveness. Pastor Ken explains Jesus’ answer to Peter’s question, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” in this week’s message, Doing the Math.
You want me to love him?
The elephant in the room this week is: hurt. Pastor Ken looks talks about loving your enemies in this week’s message, You want me to love him?
Love for Enemies
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. –Matthew 5:43-48 (NIV)

The Elephant in the Room
Lead pastor Ken Dryden begins his series “The Elephant in the Room” by looking at the purpose of church.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” –Matthew 28:19-20
The end product of church should not be buildings, Sunday services, or small groups. The end product of church should be disciples.
